Gibson's Dark Fire, touted as the next step in the evolution of the electric guitar, is expected to ship in limited quantities to select dealers in 2009. It basically looks like a souped-up Les Paul with in-built "robot technology". While it boasts a traditional shape, the Dark Fire appears to be aimed more at experimenters than old-school rockers.
